Bringing the Creston Valley Together

Simply put, the origin of I Love Creston magazine was a melding of minds during an informal discussion over the lack of community publications. This spurred an enthusiastic grassroots team dedicated to creating a monthly top-notch publication attracting readers from ten to eighty years plus.

The magazine will include regular articles such as agriculture and the environment, arts and culture, health and fitness, regional news, youth interests, to do listings and a feature article. Quality photographs will compliment the information, adding to the aesthetic look of the magazine.

On a broader scale, ilovecreston magazine will primarily focus on the Creston Valley’s local happenings, tourism information and keeping shopping local. In order to help achieve these goals, local community organizations and business’ including the Creston and District Chamber of Commerce, Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce, Creston Valley Development Authority, Town of Creston, Kootenay Employment Services, Creston Valley Advance and the Creston Valley Business Association have committed to work jointly with ilovecreston magazine. The success of these partnerships could potentially strengthen the valley and promote cooperation, a concept which, to date, has not been achieved.

Accompanying I Love Creston magazine is the website www.ilovecreston.com (launched August 1, 2008). This website will develop content and resources from the online side that is connected to the interesting relevant community information throughout the magazine. This combination will definitely make ilovecreston worth picking up every month.

I Love Creston magazine will initially be available from Yahk-Kingsgate through to Riondel. The combination magazine and website is hoped to offer the Creston Valley a seamless and up-to-date information service.
