The Creston Valley
The Creston Valley includes the town of Creston and the surrounding area of approximately 15,000 residents. Located along the second most important highway in southern British Columbia plus a major railway corridor in the same area, the Creston Valley has a long history of trade in mining, forestry, agriculture and related industries. It is also home to the world-famous Columbia Brewery which manufactures and ships approximately one million product units per day.

Town of Creston
The Town of Creston is now 5,306 citizens strong with the announcement on February 8, 2012 by Canada Census and our 5 year growth was almost 10 percent. While our Policing Agreement will be changing from a Provincial Model to a Municipal Model, we are proud that we are a growing community.
The Creston Valley’s southern boundary is the US/Canada Border at the State of Idaho, and the northern landmark is Kootenay Lake, at an elevation of 1,740 feet. We are nestled in an agricultural valley and surrounded by the stunning Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges.
The Creston Valley has 4 distinct seasons with our winters usually being on the mild side and spring has come as early as the beginning of March (in 2010 our Creston golf course opened on March 5th)! Kootenay Lake is a 20 minute drive north of Creston and offers recreational opportunities for visitors and residents.
Exciting changes are now happening in Creston. The Ramada Inn hotel and conference facility is targeting May 2012 as its opening date, located at the junction of Highway #3 and #3A. This 71 unit development will be a great long-term asset to the Town of Creston.
Creston Place is a new three-level office and retail building, located in the heart of downtown on Canyon Street and the new Creston Medical Clinic will occupy a portion of the 2nd level. Another project is Crestbrook Gardens, a new 24-unit Senior’s and Persons with Disabilities Housing Project which is located at 200 - 11th Avenue South (on the west side of the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks adjacent to Extra Foods) which opened in November 2011.
Our local Tim Horton’s continues to be a 24/7 center of activity and the Creston & District Community Complex with the indoor aquatic center, the fitness center along with our arena and curling rink is a bright and energetic community gathering place.
The Visitor Information Center at the Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce is a great way to check out the local attractions of interest in our Creston Valley.
