Who is I Love Creston Marketing Ltd? Who works for I Love Creston Magazine and the website? Who are the owners?
These questions have been making their way throughout the Creston Valley since the first issue of I Love Creston magazine hit the stands in early September. The buzz had already started when www.ilovecreston.com launched in August. For some reason, the curiosity is growing as people try to find out who we are. To us, this question is irrelevant.
We believe that both the magazine and website are not at all about us, but it’s all about YOU, Creston Valley residents. We at I Love Creston Marketing Ltd. are a team of local residents, bringing our skills and expertise together. This venture is to give you a quality publication to read, a voice, a forum to share information and news but most of all... the empowerment to feel informed. Feel free to visit us in person at our office at 129B - 12th Ave. N. (behind Investors Group) if you wish to know more!
As autumn starts to move into the Creston Valley, we felt it appropriate that this issue of I Love Creston magazine focus on the 2 big events in October, Thanksgiving (turkey - mmm) and Halloween. BOO… ghosts and goblins and creepy things that only appear on this dark and gloomy night.
This brings to mind scary bears and the helpful information from the Bear Aware Program. It’s the time of year that you may see Smokey helping himself to a smorgasbord at your garbage can. You will read about the advantages of home renovations, and along the same line, ways to prepare your yard and garden for old man winter.
From the computer keyboard of an obsessive Beatles fan, a review of the Beatles cover band that performed at the Creston Valley Festival this year.
Switching to bluegrass/folk music, we will introduce you to Elena Yeung. This banjo/guitar player combines her rich lyrics, raw voice and all around amazing musical talent while she performs on stage and in the studio. Yeung recently released a CD and toured the Kootenays playing festivals and small venues. It seemed fitting her infectious personality fill our
feature section.
In closing, we are going to the polls twice over the next few months and apathy can often set in and have people asking, why should I vote? The truth of the matter is simple.
When you don’t vote, you let others speak for you. In BC, as in the other provinces and territories in Canada, we are fortunate to have fair and democratic methods in place for the selecting of political representation. To not take part in the process or to feel like our opinion doesn’t matter would be to waste the incredible power that we possess. The power of a single vote is staggering. It is our right to stand up and be counted. And the way we do that is by casting our ballot. 9
Note: I Love Creston Staff does not endorse any political party or candidate.
