Daffodil Day

Apr 27, 2012
Daffodil Day: Friday, April 27.

This year, as part of our Daffodil Month activities the Canadian Cancer Society has designated April 27 as Daffodil Day. A special day when Canadians can show their support for those living with cancer, remember those who have died, and contribute in some way to the fight against this disease. The Daffodil pin is a bright and hopeful symbol of personal support for those affected by cancer. It tells them that no one has to face cancer alone and that we won\'t give up until all forms of the disease are defeated. Daffodil pins will be distributed in a variety of ways, including: the door to door canvass in April; boxes in retail outlets; direct mail campaigns and special events. Volunteers have a key role in all aspects of the campaign.

Andrea SUPERstein

Apr 04, 2012
EMERGING CANADIAN VOCALIST TOURS WESTERN CANADA

Direct from performing at the first ever jazz showcase at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, vocalist Andrea Superstein returns home for a 10 stop Western Canadian Tour, March 29th-April 7th. Her tour brings her to Creston to the Snoring Sasquatch on Wednesday, April 4th.

Super\'s debut at the 2010 Vancouver Jazz festival brought her a Galaxie nomination and three standing room only performances.

Her debut CD, \"One Night\" takes the listener on a fantastical trip through the world of dimly-lit speak easies and lavish nightclubs. Super\'s samplings of jazz classics and contemporary pop rock hits are both hauntingly familiar yet compellingly new.

Her performances leave fans mesmerized as she lures the listener in with beautiful tones dripping of nostalgia. Supers love of performance is evident as she playfully and candidly engages with the audience, making us fall in love with her just a little bit more each time. Her smile is contagious and her playfulness allows even the non-jazz enthusiast an all access pass.

Tickets are available in advance from Kingfisher Quality Used Books and Black Bear Books for $10.00. Tickets may be available at the door for $12.00. Membership discounts can be redeemed at the Door.
Doors open at 7:00 pm Show starts at 8:00 pm See you there!
