I have a lovely view of it out my kitchen window and an even better one from other parts of the yard. Over the years I have watched sunrises, moon rises lightening storms and many a rainbow with the Skimmerhorn prominently in the scene. There are times when the mist and low hanging clouds have shrouded the mountain making them look very much like the high misty volcanic cliffs I have seen in Hawaii. I also love the cool breeze as it blows down the slope at sunset and chases all the mosqiutoes away. |

I kind of miss the talking mannequins, too, and we have looked into converting them from their worn-out 8-tracks (another technology your kids probably wouldn't recognise!) and jury-rigged motors to modern animatronics and electronics - but at a cost of $3,000 - $5,000 per pioneer, we just can't do it. Maybe when someone wins the lottery? |

| The idea of making music | eReader Entry | | posted by: verngorham | 2012-01-20 06:06:29 | | I am the Creston's Best Singer Creator/Producer. Nice article Chris! In my opinion, if you have some ability, and you want to share, then you need to share it! Last night I called it "slaying the inner-chicken" that rises up in all of us. I had 30 singers last night, and everyone of them was nervous before they sang!!=) So, if you are nervous, you would be in good company. As I am starting to handle the karaoke night at the Snoring Sasquatch on a monthly basis (4th thursday of the month I believe) then come out, sing, and learn to relax your voice. That, in my limited experience (I am NOT a voice teacher) is the biggest issue in taking the leap from singing in the shower to singing in public. Just relaxing! Its not easy, and I don't know if there is any way around it but by trying! And if you don't do so well, try again, and again, and again if needed. A little vocal training would also be very beneficial and there are several vocal instructors in town who are great!! See Chris, in my opinion, the saddest song is the song that remains unsung. So, don't let that song inside you remain unsung. |

| Certainly Not Alone | | posted by: gloriapreston | 2011-08-23 13:47:43 | | You can bet there will never be a bypass for more than a hundred years at least!!!! |
| Certainly Not Alone | | posted by: faithson | 2011-08-22 09:04:52 | | Yes the province had purchased quite a bit of the land needed for a truck bypass around Arrow Mtn. Council in 2003 looked at the impact of bypasses around other towns, (eg Hope), and saw that it had no long term negative effect on local businesses. But then: Province refused to fund the work! (citing all the $ spent on the new intersection leading down Erickson St.); nevertheless, some Town officials saw that the original truck bypass could be done in phases. Not much seems to be happening with that. A collective will by business and residents is needed to unite the Creston people to lobby for getting the fumes and noise pollution from those trucks away from the lungs and bodies of local residents. Creston's main street is my least favorite place to be because of them. A very gross experience! yuck |

I have been enjoying the many things to do at The Point since i was a small boy in the 80's and to see it shut down because of blatent misuse and disrespect makes me sick to my stomach. There was very little trouble down there aside of the occasional broken beer bottle or dog poo until the crowd of people showed up that deficate in shopping bags then throw them in the bush, do drugs and discard their needles nearby, and participate in public nudity and fornication. I look forward to the day when i can climb down the trail again and plunge into the water from above, while hearing people of all ages' laughter and the sounds of summer all around me at The Point. |

| Certainly Not Alone | | posted by: faithson | 2011-08-19 08:45:01 | | There are safety issues around big trucks using Cook St. To address these, the entire corner from 16th would have to be changed, part of the school yard, buildings on the corner would be gone. And still exposes school children to hazards arising from accidents. The only sensible solution is to route the big trucks around the town, not through it. If there were enough collective will in Creston, a way could be found to get this done...unfortunately that has yet to happen. |
| Certainly Not Alone | | posted by: ellys | 2011-08-18 11:35:05 | | Sure, it's all great. It's just those large, noisy, smelly transport trucks that annoy me. Couldn't they be directled to at least use the Cook St. bypass? |

Yes, tourists, friends and family of Crestonians, people enjoying the lakes and neighbouring areas seem to flood our little town.... I've just learned to deal with it. After all, Summer traffic in Creston is peanuts to Saskatoon where we came from. Even the "sunday drivers" in Saskatoon are worse than this. LOL So We just avoid downtown and drive all the side roads. IF we NEED to be downtown for something, we would rather park a ways away, then walk down. Just think, once the kids are back in school, it will slow down again :) |

And at summer camp there was always lake sea weed- and all the girls got all freaked out and screamed when it touched their legs. (being a girl, I was ok with it- until then!!) when they shrilled, I got goose bumps and freaked out too. Now every time I feel it in the water, I freak... Now that being said, I cannot freak out around the kids- I have to PRETEND to be brave and tell them that it's JUST lake sea weed, and it won't hurt you. (good luck with that, right???) |

Since a sunburn is free radical damage, which as I understand it is caused by unstable molecules (free radicals), by using an antioxidant, they can donate their free hydrogen to the free radical to make it stable, and thus not a free radical anymore. Its not anything I read or anything, just kind of figured it out from a chemistry perspective. It does seem to reduce the burn, but maybe its all in my head. I'll keep using it though!!Enjoy your column!Vern |

(the teacher ate apples all the time) So I had it in my head I would bruise the apple to no end. When I got to school and put the apple on the desk with the rest, I noticed NO ONE else bruised theirs- and I sort of felt bad for falling for their crap, and it made me so sad- what if they did that to me?? As for now- times, I never even try to prank. I just don't see the novelty in it. As for the bread... mine always turns out like that- even if I DO try to be careful with it. |

So people here don't take this very seriously in spite of being advised (recall Arnor Larson's presentation in 2008 about dark sky/environmental lighting)that light pollution is very real. It not only affects humans, but animals as well. In fact everything that man does has an impact on other animals and the environment, and consequently on the rest of the planet. The issue is not about climate change but about how we impact others with every thing that we do. |

The amount of time your politicians will waste yet again beating this dead issue under the guise of "what our constituents want" is appaling - these are your tax dollars they are wasting yipping about in council ad nauseum - is there not more pressing issues? Even feral cats don't care. I think we have the same amount of daylight each day - learn to use it wisely. Check out the article Harrowsmith did on this last summer - its a proven fact we don't save on power and it creates more mental stress. Creston Council members who are wanting a vote should very carefully, personally and jointly, weigh each of these considerations. Don't put taxpayers through yet another vote. |

| Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place | | posted by: looking4light | 2011-03-15 09:06:14 | | I feel leaving he time the way it is - is the fairest way to go. Consider that many of us are transplants from differerent areas who have connections either to the east or west. For half of the year we are on the same time as Vancouver and for the other half it is the same as Alberta. This gives a diverse range of our community opportunity to connect with business, friends and family within their normal living time frame for at least six months of the year. I always tell my Vancouver people--don't complain it's Alberta's turn. Changing it to one or the other is not fairness in a democratic society. So even though I hate when Alberta is an hour ahead because of business and medical appts in Cranbrook I just remind myself that for six months of the year I don't have to worry about it. I feel some comfort in that people I know that re opposed to the way things are are only inconvenienced for 6 months instead of permanently or vice versa.Change is not something that human beings adapt to easily. Can we not put ourselves out a bit to honour the patience of our neighbours who struggle to adjust their lives to accomodate mine. During my struggle with TV shows I just remind myself that I am making this effort for my neighbours as they do for me 6 months of the year. |

| Creston’s Best Singer Top 20 Finalists | | posted by: verngorham | 2011-03-10 16:32:39 | | Excellent question. We had the first Creston's Best SInger contest November 2010. Thus the title was for 2010. I decided to switch the season of the contest from late fall/early winter to late winter/early spring to hopefully avoid all the cold and flu viruses that typically circulate once winter starts to hit. (Thus, it was a quick turnaround for the second show.)At least four of my singers were affected in November 2010 with a virus/sickness of some kind that did affect their ability to sing. Compare that number to the "Audition Contest" we just held Feb 23rd, where out of 26 singers, we had one sick! Thus, it appears the move to a different season accomplished what I wanted. To further answer your question, this will be the last contest for 2011. The person who wins the title will maintain the title until the 2012 contest, which will probably be held around this time in 2012. Great question!!=) |

Everybody is concerned about money though - I pay my fair share of taxes too but I do know that its way cheaper to get a day pass here compared to Airdrie for example and I think our place is better - I'm sure it would be the same elsewhere in comparable centres and frankly, I think the people of the Valley deserve something nice for a change. Too bad about having to quit basketball because of cost - I do know we wanted to get a sports night going and looked at renting a school gym but everyone pays $30 an hour - including the rec centre - and we couldn't get enough consistent turnout to get where a few dedicated people weren't paying the whole cost. Hey! sounds familiar - just like family hockey! I certainly agree people and community makes things happen. |

| The Puck Stops Here | | posted by: kristenc | 2011-02-17 21:57:29 | Marvelous comment, thank-you! I would like to admit my percentage was misinformed and incorrect. I apologize. I will, however, stand by my point that the facility is in excess of what we can comfortably afford given our income levels and population.
You do bring up some positive opportunities. I am, again, supportive of any community efforts to increase physical activity. But between the increase to living costs and fees for use I'm not convinced this was a efficient management of options.
Family hockey gave me an opportunity to write about this. It is certainly not exclusive, however, in my opinions. |
| The Puck Stops Here | | posted by: hottubkelly | 2011-02-17 18:46:35 | | I saw your comment and frankly I was upset because isn’t the Rec Centre about families? So, I phoned up the Rec Centre and discovered the Family Skate was a private rental which paid the lowest ice time rate available. The rates did go up for ice but that was for everyone, even us in Minor Hockey and it was about 15% which I guessed was about 7 bucks an hour before tax which now has an additional 7% because of HST. The family hockey group then charged according to how many people showed up so less people equals more money. You need to get more people playing hockey. So then I opened my Leisure Guide and the first thing I see is a write-up on the Leisure Access program. This allows those low income individuals you speak of, a 50% discount off drop-in admission into everything. Everybody 85 years old and over gets in free. (And in Creston, we have a lot…) I flip to page 22 and I see a free walking program. I see a toonie swim (or adults for $3) every Friday on page 11. One thing I do know – I was up there the other day and there are a heck of a lot more people using the place than ever before which tells volumes. |

| The Puck Stops Here | | posted by: kristenc | 2011-02-16 09:04:31 | Tienna, I certainly agree with your last sentence! My issue is not with the fact that necessary upgrades were made. My concern is with the fact that low-income individuals are no longer able to use the facilities. I feel this could've been avoided had we focussed, instead, on a basic (regulation sized) pool and face-lift. Much of what is provided is simply too great a financial toll on our small community. Regardless, they are certainly nice facilities now. I simply feel the cost is on the entire community, but only a certain percentage will be able to truly benefit. Thank-you both for your comments! :) |
| The Puck Stops Here | | posted by: faithson | 2011-02-16 07:55:32 | | It is disappointing to hear that family hockey has ended and that increased fees is the primary reason. Has anyone spoken to RD officials about this? I was looking forward to using the walking track, but cost has prohibited me from doing so. I complained and RD apparently was going to look at the fee structure and hopefully accommodate something like that. As well as encouraging seniors to exercise (thereby lessening the load on the health system), Community simply must foster family activities--this benefits all of us when you view it from a larger perspective. |
| The Puck Stops Here | | posted by: tienna | 2011-02-16 06:42:21 | | Well, I don't know much about hockey and I have never been on the ice here, but I think the new facility is awesome. We use it pretty much every other week (which may not sound like much) but I use to pool to be with my family and it's a way to let go of our stresses. Plus the PhysioWorks is moving in there now so it makes more people be able to use the facilities. Plus the weight room PLUS the kids can have birthday parties booked there... The 'old' facility never had that- and frankley the 'old' pool and 'old' rec center looked quite pitiful for a growing community. |

I get all gung-ho about preparing the garden, seed the plants and water... then it dies off when the neighbourhood cats start using my soil as a toilet. We never really planted anything last year because of it. I love flowers, but have a huge pollen allergy... and I love carrots, but can no longer grow those outside. So I just enjoy the neighbour's gardens without the hassle. HAPPY GARDENING, EVERYONE!! |

I have a bunch of beautiful patch work quilts from my husbands' side of the family. (They've got talent!!) I also have a denim patch work blankie from my sister-in-law's family. My sewing machine is having a Time-Out for 6 years now because every time i try to use it, it has a coniption and keeps snapping my needles. Very frusterating, indeed. I am trying my hand at hand stitching a patch work teddy bear for my kids. But it is pathetic. It looks bad... VERY bad. :) |

Any food that has come into contact with wheat or gluten is off limits. Even if poutine doesn't have any wheat in it (per say) if the fries are deep-fried in the same oil as let's say chicken fingers ~ which are breaded~ I have bad reactions. I LOVE to hear about new (or at least new to me) resteraunts, but any cross-contamination may just do me in. Bt thank you very much for sharing! Your experiences are always welcomed here. |

Soon we will have two. There are tons of smart dogs other than German Shephards and such. Others include Standard Poodles, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Border Collies, even Beagles! I LOVE talking about dogs- but I'm sure(as it is now the weekend) you have other stuff you'd ratehr do. :) Now, I volunteer with animal rescue groups and donate my time and money. I encourage people to spay and neuter their pets and I am against cruelty to animals. BUT I also hunt big game. Not for trophy- but rather to put meat on the table for during the winter. I also don't have a problem with feeding snakes and lizards mice or rats. (As long as they are humanely killed before hand)I don't do vegetarian or vegan. That's too over the top for my liking. |

It is a much more personal way of showing those you love by taking the time to sit (this promotes relaxing as well)and write to them. Imagine the joy of them receiving these gems and treasure them in a keepsake box. At 40 something I have encouraged my longtime friend to write as she is living in England. We used to do this while she was in University, we would be faithful penpals. |

I figure if some one wants to buy something, they will ask where they could buy it (to support the function).I do some volunteer work for a local cause, and I have been know to tend bake-sale tables or sell raffle tickets... I have even been known to go door to door every now and again... Can't say that I enjoy it and want to do it all the time, but if it is for a good cause, I will try to support it. As for people wanting ME to buy something... Ha ha ha... Well that is 'very' touch and go. If I am strapped for cash at the time when someone wants me to buy something, then I`ll probably say no. It doesn`t matter whether I am entered to win a new car, or someone is selling those YUMMY chocolate covered almonds. AND if I know I can`t buy anything for their fundraiser, I`ll probably empty my change purse to donate to the cause. |

If you are interested, let me know and I will give you the next ice times coming up. Cheers! |

When I moved back to Creston, I was so excited to be connected with those who stayed or came back to Creston as well. Those friends that you talk to once a year or emailed, but we changed and our life cycles are different, some have kids some not, 20 years later I still like those old friends but it is definately different. At 40 you will still romanticize about the good ol days, when it really seemed less busy and more fun. |

Okay, driving in it isn't so great, but I love the softness and the silence of those great big fluffy flakes falling. And watching my dog snuffle through it looking for mice, and coming up with snow up to his eyebrows. And chickadees and house finches gathered on the branches of the mountain ash trees, cheerfully chirping at each other and ruffling the snow off their feathers. And bright winter sunshine making snow-covered trees glisten. And...okay I'll stop now. But what's not to like? |

BUT I have a secret weapon - it's www.livestrong.com You can record what you eat or drink and record what kind of activities you participate in, etc... it helps me count calories and actually keep track of what excersise I have done, or still need to do. | Morning Thoughts | | posted by: faithson | 2010-11-26 11:28:56 | | Such irony that you lose your cat and we keep having cats appear in our yard. I sure hope you find him!I've had two females show up with baby kittens in the last 3 years...I got the mothers spayed - one mother died 3 weeks after being spayed, and the other survived and now lives with us. Also adopted out 6 of the babies to other folks and adopted one kitten for us. In addition, we still have one feral little boy cat who is dependent on my handouts. Taking care of these animals is taking a big chunk of my senior pension yet the only other option is to let them breed and multiply. Whomever is throwing out cats like this needs to be locked away for life. If anyone would like to adopt this lovable little spayed female cat (she is only 7 lbs and LOVES and CRAVES affection) please respond? She is so easy to please and eats only dry cat food. It's my prayer that she will find that loving home that she so much needs. |

| Morning Thoughts | | posted by: tienna | 2010-11-24 07:06:30 | | Over all the years I had cats- they have been inside. If cats are inside the house, it is highly unlikely they will get stollen. However, if the cat is an outdoor cat, the owners are begging something to happen to their felines. There are many danges including but not limited to being hit by a car, getting chased by a dog, someone 'finding' a kitty and taking it him home for themselves; there are also coyotes... And there are also ignorant people who 'take care of problem cats' -most of those kitties don't end up in someone's barn. (I'll leave the rest for you to imagine for yourself) Bottom line-if you don\t want your cat to disappear, keep them indoors. |

| Morning Thoughts | | posted by: faithson | 2010-11-10 09:57:56 | | Unfortunately, our very modern treatment system is undermined by the very old and crumbling distribution system. The amount of chlorine in the water is residual, and is needed to counteract the bacteria in the pipes. We lived in Creston when the water was chlorinated, and now live in Erickson. In comparison, we can't taste any chlorine in our water here, and feel confident that it is safe to drink. We drink it from the tap and love it!However, users who rely on Arrow Creek water should be aware that the RDCK now has no choice but to replace the old pipes, which will be at considerable cost. We will be hearing lots more about this in the near future.I hope that residual chlorine treatment would not be necessary once the distribution system is upgraded. |

It started in 1883 with efforts to divert the Kootenay River into the Columbia at Canal Flats, and the Alberta-BC Exploration Company began diking in 1892. That attempt failed, as did many other attempts by many other companies, until 1934-1935. That's the short answer. The long answer is here |

One should never take time from their day for negativity, and you seem to have a lot of that in your speech.
"i felt ripped off by way of the yearly fee and then given nothing in return, not even a phone call to inform of votes or meetings."
I've been a Member for approximately five years and I've found that you get from it what you are willing to put into it. The Chamber has had some hard times in the past but now they have a fully functional hard working VOLUNTEER board of various successful members from the business community and 2-4 regular full-time employees, (depending on the time of year). I’m not going to try and give you a lesson of the benefits in networking and positivity as it relates to a smaller community business atmosphere, BUT if you show positivity and helpful volunteerism when needed, you’ll find that your business will stand to benefit through the connections and friendships you’ve made.
"the newspaper article can be found in the archives. the item about the map is true"
Although there are some things that will inevitably need to be corrected as time passes. The costs and technology needed to update this information are sometimes unavailable, bus after some enquiries have been updated (to the best of my knowledge).
"some local treasures are not meant to be shared with the world"
The information given to the tourists are based on their enquiries and interests. If John Q tourist stops at the information centre asking for a local waterfall or etc. and they find what they are looking for, the benefits are far greater than the downfalls in my opinion.
#1 The tourist will likely stop somewhere and eat, maybe even fill up with gas, they’re more likely to stop at a convenience or gift shop to fine a token for their memory. POSITIVE CASH FLOW FOR THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE
#2 If the tourist found what they were looking for, they are far more likely to talk to their friends, post pictures online, or even blog about it. Thus doing exactly what the tourism side of the Chamber was meant to do, PROMOTE THE VALLEY.
"the falls experienced a substantial rock slide last year, now if tourists would have been there it would have been a gong show."
Granted it would have been unfortunate if someone was there, but this is the risk that anyone takes when going to off-road or remote locations. Don’t kid yourself; there is always a level of danger. That feeds excitement and the enticement that you’re seeing one of nature’s most beautiful things, something that only a few people have seen before you.
As for the accountability, what do you do when the side of the skimmer horns come down? Is an 'act of god' something that someone is accountable for? What if you go fishing and fall in the water, hiking and bang your knee on a rock? Who’s accountable then?
"it also has to be recognized that i am not the only person to have had issues and to place the focus on me (because i choose to stand out a bit) and that all people who have had issue should have the opportunity to speak and be heard. "
No one will tell you not to speak out, and this is the perfect place for discussion.
As a wise man once said,
"What we're saying today is that you're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem " - 1975 M. Bradbury History Man v.
So please be helpful by being positive with suggestions or solutions to help solve any existing problems. As I said above, this is not a forum for closed minded thinking or the tearing of anyone, it is meant for community like mindedness and positive thinking or collaboration to help make Creston a better place as a whole.

Excerpt from the Law Wiki
"English law has long recognized that a person's good reputation is something that merits protection, and that compensation should be paid by someone who impugns that reputation. A person who is a victim of an attack on his reputation can be financially damaged, particularly if the imputation concerns his professional competence. However, in most cases it is not necessary that the victim show that he has suffered any financial loss: Libel (publication in permanent form) is actionable per se, as is Slander (publication in transient form) when it touches on a person's professional competence."

Otherwise it costs $300/week for the generator to run it. They are looking at solar power as an option to keep it going through the summer months. Apparently it will be turned on again in October when the guys go back up. |

If they advertized it, that stunt driving is allowed, every one and their dog would abuse it. I mean C'mon if you were driving properly in the first place, you wouldn't get nailed for any stunt driving. Although I am strongly opposed to ANY alcohol in your blood- that's just begging for an accident- and if you kill someone you have to live with that for the rest of your life. That'll sure be fun... all for a couple drinks.... |

| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-07 | | posted by: faithson | 2010-10-07 09:44:50 | | Being late is a habit that some folks carry for a life time. I am always early and it is a token of my respect for others. We would have less reason to complain if we could only respect others a whole lot more. |

| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-06 | | posted by: rogerstuart | 2010-10-06 05:43:05 | | Most people do not come to a complete stop at 4-way stops; instead they are treated as 4-way slow downs. Usually when I come to a complete stop the other guy keeps on rolling through. Perhaps they should be called: "He stopped so I don't have to" intersections. |
| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-06 | | posted by: tienna | 2010-10-06 07:52:16 | | I love 4-way stops. I know what to do, it's those who's turn it is then don't go, then they get mad when I say "Fine- you won't go- then I will"... But I would rather go through 8 4-way stops than 1 stop 4-way yeild sighn. Now talk about confusion. |

| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-04 | | posted by: RobMargaretMcDougall | 2010-10-04 02:17:55 | | While we, also, do not agree with parking meters, it is also a fact that people who will park for hours and walk all up and down main street will not walk the extra half block or so from any of the free public parking, whether or not they plug the meter.Even worse, the "it is all about me" people routinely pull into our parking lot, right in front of signs stating registered hotel guest parking only, even when there is available street parking. To add insult to injury, people that are rude enough to expect that we should provide free parking for them on OUR property also seem to feel it is their right to dump their ashtrays, coffee cups, and other assorted garbage for us to clean up.Parking meters and tickets for non-payment may help the Town pay for upkeep, but who helps us? |
| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-04 | | posted by: bcgrrl | 2010-10-04 08:55:21 | | let us not forget the lack of street parking for the ever important 'downtown core' idea. we have had how many parking spots taken away and never replaced? i have to park on cook street lots and have had to use the nasty dirt lot where sunset used to be! they could at least fix the potholes leading into the lot if we are forced to use it! while they are at it...FIX ALL THE POTHOLES! properly, not the crappy town fill in job that they usually do! |
| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-04 | | posted by: faithson | 2010-10-04 08:27:53 | | On a recent visit to Sandpoint, we noted how easy it was to park there...no meters! They are wanting our business. Creston and Creston businesses need to take note of this. Creston is just not a shopper friendly town.We who live here are not the only ones who are fed up with the parking meters. Visitors and tourists express surprise and disagreement also.It would be interesting to know the rationale at Town Hall for continuing with parking meters. Putting a loonie into the shopping cart is a major inconvenience, and makes me want to shop elsewhere. The store must lose a lot of money on carts if the benefit of charging for them outweighs the cost of losing customers. |

We all pay when others have to live below poverty level. Start with health care, social problems, etc. The problems of one family soon belong to the larger community. |
| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-10-01 | | posted by: chadw | 2010-10-01 09:03:12 | | Minimum wage- BC has not increased it's minimum wage in over a decade. Some people dont have the option of going back to school or getting required training to make more money, are they suppose to just try to make it by their entire lives balancing on the poverty line? Imagine trying to raise a family on 64 dollars a day. Think about the cost of everything today compared to 10 years ago. A bottle of pop is over 2 dollars, a pack of gum has doubled in price, nevermind gas prices, rent and everything else, oh yeah and then there's HST. |

| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-09-30 | | posted by: jjmac | 2010-09-30 08:41:54 | | I found this article ridiculous. Encouraging young people to break the law to j-walk is irresponsible and dangerous. Those laws are there to protect the people walking and protect the drivers. The laws have been written so everyone knows what is expected of them to keep their fellow citizens safe and prevent drivers from a lifetime of guilt from hitting someone. I agree completely with the previous posted comment. Pack a lunch (like I did when attending these Creston schools) if you feel you do not have sufficient time to go home for lunch. Yes, not stopping while someone is following the law and waiting at a crosswalk is rude and inconsiderate. I commend everyone who follows the traffic rules in this town and thank them for thinking of my safety. |
| Kris' Daily Thoughts - 2010-09-30 | | posted by: tienna | 2010-09-30 07:47:28 | | First of all, people who use cross walks are "being safe" (at least that's what we tell our kids). The odd time or two, I will blitz across the street when the traffic has slowed down. Second - if the high school students have such a short time, they should bring bag lunches or eat at their own school cafeteria. (I always had to)Third- I would think it's neet to have "Bear" around. I would put a fence around my property, and have a fruit tree or two on the other side of the fence for "Bear"Last but not least, I am receiving the BUZZ twice in my e-mail box per day. I really don't need to read it twice- thinking I missed something the first time. Thanks! |
