The World Wide Web Meets the Printing Press

Creston - The melding of two very different community information sources is on the verge of exploding in the Creston Valley. The website, www.ilovecreston.com is launching August 1st 2008 and ilovecreston magazine will follow on September 1, 2008.

The Creston Valley remains behind other local areas when it comes to the Internet and this has created a large hole in the community with regards to online community information. As well, some community magazines have dissolved leaving an opportunity to add a valuable source and strength.

"This venture was a team effort that came into play during a discussion over gaps in the online and magazine sectors," said Sales Manager, Renee Wilkins. "Along with that issue were the large cooperation problems in the valley between the business' and organizations about valley information. From there, the concept s of www.ilovecreston.com and ilovecreston magazine became the solution. Readers can expect new developing content and resources from the online side and interesting relevant community information throughout the magazine. This combination will definitely make it worth picking up every month. We are aiming to start distribution at about 3000+ all throughout the valley. (Yahk-Kingsgate right through to Riondel). People from 10 to 80+ will enjoy this magazine."

The content of both ilovecreston magazine and website will primarily focus on the Creston Valley's local happenings, tourism information and keeping shopping local.

www.ilovecreston.com and ilovecreston magazine are working jointly with local community organizations and business' including area Chambers, Development Authorities, Kootenay Employment Services, the Town of Creston, Creston Valley Advance and the Creston Valley Business Association with the goal of strengthening the valley and promoting cooperation.
